Frenkel Memorial Meeting
of the AJCongress, 1 p.m.

Schatz will discuss in-
termarriage, divorce and
the faltering family as fac-
tors which threaten the
survival of the American
Jewish family.
Schatz, an authority on
the cultural aspects of
Jewish life, has been on the
staff of AJCongress for more
than 32 years. -
President Carter re-
cently appointed him to
serve on the newly-
established U.S.
Holocaust Council. Elie
Wiesel is chairman of the
60 member council,
which includes 10 mem-
bers of the U.S. Senate
and House of Represen-
tatives, including Rep.
James Blanchard (D-
Mich.).
There will be a reception
in the Rose Frenkel Garden
prior to the program. The

97, a resident of Borman
Hall, Jewish Home for the
Aged, will be honored at a
ceremony 3 p.m. Saturday
for 75 years' membership in
Hiram Lodge of the Masons
in Raleigh, N.C.
Sidney Perry, past master
of the lodge, will make the
presentation of an engraved
plaque. Rosengarten is be-
lieved to be the only 75-year
member in the 200-year his-
tory of the lodge. Although
he has lived 65 years in De-
troit he maintained his
membership in the lodge.
