troit, is sponsoring a leader-
ship seminar on the Middle
East 9 a.m. June 22 at the
main Jewish Community
Center.
The program is entitled,
"Understanding and Pre-
paring for What's Ahead."
The program will include
a welcome and orientation
by Marian Shifman,
president of the JCCouncil,
a keynote address by Prof.
Arthur Mendel of the Uni-
versity of Michigan and four
workshops:
American-Israeli rela-
tions, chaired by Irwin
Shaw and presented by
Robert Naftaly; the
Soviet Role in the Middle
East, chaired by Lillian
Weisberg and presented
by Maurice Binkow;
clarifying the Palestinian
question, chaired by
Charles Tobias and pre-
sented by Irving Tukel;
Israeli politics and the
American Jewish com-
munity, chaired by
Norma Shifrin and pre-
sented by Peter Alter.
