Dr. Fuller announced
that Sinai Hospital has an-
other significant develop-
ment in laser medicine. It
a technique using fiber
tics to flexibly carry laser
energy over long distances,
enabling one laser to be
used in many areas.
He explained that by
using a small fiber optic de-
vice, a surgeon in the
operating room may be able
to use a laser which is lo-
cated in another area of the
hospital. This will elimi-
nate the need for additional
lasers which are costly
while at the same time mak-
ing another surgical tool
easily accessible.
