Convention to Begin June 6
The Department of
Michigan and the Ladies
Auxiliary, Jewish War Vet-
erans, will hold their joint
39th annual convention
June 6-8 at the JWV Memo-
rial Home.
There will be an oneg
Shabat 7:30 p.m. June 6 at
the JWV headquarters.
Services and presentation of
scholarships are on the eve-
ning's agenda. .
At 9 a.m. June 7, serv-
ices will be held at Cong.
Bnai Moshe. A Comman-

Dr. Treisman Heads Alumni
Dr. Edward J. Treisman
has assumed the presidency
of the Wayne State Univer-
sity School of Medicine
Alumni Association.
Dr. Treisman, a 1954
School of Medicine
graduate, is the 105th per-
son to lead the WSU Medi-
cal Alumni Association
since its establishment in
1875.
Dr. Treisman earned his
undergraduate degree at
Wayne State University in
1950 and did his post-
graduate training at De-
troit Receiving and Sinai
Hospitals. He is chairman of
the Department of General
Surgery at Providence Hos-
pital of Southfield, an active

3 cups flour
3 egg yolks
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 cup milk or water
1 tbsp. sugar
Dissolve yeast and sugar in
warm water or milk. Let stand
10 minutes. Mix flour and but-
ter until it looks like sand. (Use
pastry blender or fingers.)
Make a well and add egg yolks.
Add yeast mixture. Mix and
then knead lightly and divide
into three parts..
FILLING
3 /4 cup sugar
3 /4 cup ground walnuts
11/2 tsps. cinnamon
Mix these ingredients to-
gether. Sprinkle a little nut
mixture on a flat surface. Roll
out dough and cover with
some nut mixture. Cut each
piece of dough into about 15
wedges.
Roll into a small crescent
shape. Let rise 20 minutes on a
greased cookie sheet, covered
with a dish towel. Bake 20-25
minutes at 375 degrees. Makes
about four dozen cookies.
