Princess' Film Hampers British- Saudi Relations NEW YORK — Efforts by the British Foreign Office to reduce the sentences of a British surgeon and his wife in Saudi Arabia, have been hampered by the showing of "Death of a Princess," ac- cording to an Arab dip- lomat in London. The surgeon, Richard Ar- not, and his wife Penelope, were sentenced to public floggings for violating the Saudi laws against alcohol consumption. Arnot is also serving a jail term for the offense. The film, shown last month on U.S. public televi- sion, was produced by the British Broadcasting Corp. Polanski in Israel to Seek Possible Film Locations TEL AVIV (JTA) — Roman Polanski, the Polish-born Jewish film di- rector and Holocaust sur- vivor, is on his first visit to Israel to inspect possible lo- cations for his next film "The Pirates." It will be produced by an Israeli businessman, Arnon Milchan, who is Polanski's host and guide for his 10-day visit, and Sam Weinberg. The 47-year-old movie- maker was saved from the Holocaust when his father had him smuggled out of the Cracow ghetto after the Nazi occupation of Poland. He achieved international fame for his film, "Knife in the Water," made in Poland, and for his American films such as "Rosemary's Baby" Council Names Parley Chairman NEW YORK — Rabbi Steven M. Dworken of the Anshe Chesed Synagogue Center, Linden, N.Y., will serve as chairman of the 44th annual convention of the Rabbinical Council of America, June 23-26, in Miami Beach. The proceeds will be do- nated to charity. `Errors, Play at Oakland U. William Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors" will open 8:30 p.m. June 6 in the Barn Theatre at Oakland University. "The Comedy of Errors" will be performed in the Barn Theatre on June 6-8, 13-15, and 20-22. Curtains are at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with 6:30 p.m. shows on Sundays.
