THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Suzie Walters to Be Cited as ORT Israel Bond Honoree Suzie Walters, of Bloom- field Hills, will be honored as Michigan Region ORT's "Woman of the Year" on be- half of Israel Bonds at a champagne reception hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borman. The reception will be held 8 p.m. June 9, in the Bor- mans' Birmingham home. In tribute to her leadership in ORT and the Bond cam- paign, Mrs. Walters will be the recipient of a special award from the state of Is- rael. Mrs: Walters is also active in the Allied A diwish Campaign, and as charter member Cen- Chapter, Bnai Brith. Mrs. Walters has held many portfolios in ORT, in- cluding president of the Jewry on the Air By NORMA BARACH (Copyright 1980, JTA, Inc.) cups milk, scalded 3 tbsps. butter, divided 2 slices stale white bread, cubed 8 ounces fresh mushrooms 1 /4 cup chopped onion 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 tsp. salt 1 /8 tsp. ground black pepper Preheat oven to 325 de- grees. In a medium bowl com- bine milk, 1 tbsp. of the butter and bread cubes; set aside for 10 minutes. Rinse, pat dry and slice mushrooms. In a large skillet melt remaining 2 tbsps. butter. Add onion; saute until tender, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms. Continue to saute for 5 minutes and then let cool. Add eggs, salt and black pepper to cooled mushroom-onion mixture. Mix well. Pour into a greased one- quart pan or quiche pan. Set pan in a larger pan containing hot water. Bake, uncovered, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean — about 45 minutes.
