close friend of Prime
Minister Menahem Be-
gin, came to the newly-
established post of am-
bassador to Egypt from
his position as director
general of the Prime
Minister's Office.
In mid-December of 1977
he was chosen by Begin to
head Israel's negotiating
team at the peace initiative
in Cairo.

Honors Listed

Several area students
have announced their
graduations from profes-
sional schools and the re-
ceipt of honors from their
respective colleges.
Residents who earned
Doctor of Medicine degrees
from the Wayne State Uni-
versity School of Medicine
are: Drs. Bruce T. Adelman,
Ronald S. Dubin, Robert M.
Robins, Steve Goldschmid,
James E. Selis, Jeffrey M.
Colbert and Lenny J. Hut-
ton. They will receive their
degrees at ceremonies 7:30
p.m. June 1 at Ford Au-
ditorium.
Dr. Judith L. Rissman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Rissman of West
Bloomfield, received a Doc-
tor of Medicine degree from
the school of medicine at the
University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Brian S. Fishman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Fishman of Oak Park, has
been tapped for the Mortar
Board national senior honor
society. Fishman is a senior
at Michigan State Univer-
sity, where he has been ac-
cepted for membership into
Pi Kappa Gamma packag-
ing honorary fraternity and
Alpha Zeta honorary and
service fraternity.

Meet Wednesday

SPACE, a community
service for the widowed, di-
vorced, and their families,
will sponsor a children's
drop-in discussion 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday and a weekly
drop-in discussion for
widowed and divorced men
and women 8 p.m: Wednes-
day, both in the National
Council of Jewish Women
offices, 16400 W. 12 Mile,
Southfield. There are nomi-
nal charges.
The children's program
has been designed for those
youngsters who have ex-
perienced the death of a
parent. A trained facilitator
will guide the program.

Park Raceway. Dinner will
be served at 7 and races will
begin at 8:15. Cost of the
evening includes: Admis-
sion, box seats, program,
dinner, taxes and tip. A race
will be named in honor of
the unit. Guests are wel-
