Shelby Tauber Elected President of Jewish
Welfare Federation Women's Division
Shelby Tauber was
elected president of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
Women's Division at the di-
vision's 34th annual meet-
ing May 15 at Temple Beth
El.
Mrs. Tauber has been a
vice president of the di-
vision since 1978. She has
served as chairman of the
Women's Division of the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign aid
on the division's executive
committee.
Mrs. Tauber is a member
of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
on's Board of Gover-
and of the Federation's
munity Services Di-
vision.
Theme of the annual
meeting was "A Salute to

musical-slide show, which
featured Joan Linden, Phyl-
lis Newman, Maida Portnoy
and pianist Lois Novitz.
George M. Zeltzer,
president of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, brought
greetings, and Jessie Stern,
division vice president,
gave the invocation.
Mrs. Tauber, who served
as Women's Division
chairman of the Allied
Jewish Campaign for the
past two yeah, reported
that the division raised
$2,210,864 in 1980, plus
$468,550 for Project Re-
newal.
Also elected at the meet-
ing were Marlene Borman,
Ellen Labes, Janet Levine
and Jane Sherman as vice
presidents; Beverly Peter-
man and Donna Slatkin,
secretaries.
Shirley Harris and
Dulcie Rosenfeld, the
outgoing president, were
elected representatives
to the Federation's Board
of Governors.
Re-elected to three-year
terms on the division board
were Marjory Ansell, Har-
riet Band, Marlene Bor-
man, Rochelle Jackier,
Ellen Labes, Linda Lee, Be-
