president of the Union of
American Hebrew Congre-

The Maltzers are hon-

Reform Jewish Appeal .
dinner sponsored by the
Metropolitan Detroit Fed-

Born in Munich, Rabbi
Schindler fled Germany
with his family in 1932.

Nazi Crimes

"The Investigation of
Nazi Crimes, 1945-1978,"
was published recently by
C.F. Muller, a German pub-
lisher of legal literature.
The documentation, writ-
ten by Adalbert Ruckerl,
head of the Land Judicial
Authorities for the Investi-
gation of Nazi Crimes, and
translated by Derek Rutter,
traces the sequence of
events in the investigation
and prosecution of war
criminals. The book is based
on a two-volume set, "Nazi
Trials," which originally
appeared in 1971.
Included in the book is a
leaflet discussing the recent
abolition of the Statute of
Limitations for war crimes
which took effect Dec. 31 of
last year.
