Pizza in a Skillet from Chef BoyaEdee®! Editor, The Jewish News: Last week The Jewish News said that the Detroit News had called a spade a spade in their editorial that said ". . There is a direct Soviet connection with, and a direct Soviet responsibil- ity for, the captivity of American Diplomatic per- sonnel . . . the jailers who man the iron gates of the U.S. Embassy are, for the most part, PLO terrorists who are being aided and abetted by Russia." That is not the whole story. There is also an American connection to these PLO terrorists. Marie Syrkin in the March issue of Midstream points out that America is helping finance the Palestine Liberation Organization's military training and the indoctrina- tion of their members with hate of Jews, Israel and America. America does that by their support of the 15 United Nations camps in Lebanon — having given more than $800 million to date. Those UN camps, sup- posedly for refugees, are ac- tually PLO military cen- ters. More than half of the budget of the camps are for their schools. The education is in the arts of war and ter- rorism. Aiwa Proposed Chef Boyarde0 Pizza in a Skillet is the fast, convenient way to serve your family mouth-watering pizza in about 20 minutes with no oven to heat because you make it in a skillet on top of the stove. You'll have a fabulous pizza that any balabosta will be proud to serve by using one mixing bowl and a skillet. It's almost faster than frozen or phoned for. Editor, The Jewish News: There is only one solution to Israel's survival: Mass immigration! To populate Samaria and Judea as in ancient days, so that Jews should reach a majority is what is required. All the surrounding Arab nations will never give up the idea of destroying Is- rael. It will be impossible to prevent the PLO solution (return of Jerusalem, Jaffa and Haifa to a future state named "Palestine," to quote a recent speech by a high- ranking PLO member). Without mass immigra- tion, military force alone can't do it in the long run. * * * Julius Chajes In Defense of the Yordim Editor, The Jewish News: Some American Jews will castigate Israelis who choose to leave the country in search for economically more comfortable areas, particularly the U.S. The 'A Unique Shopping Experience - A Cut Above the Rest!" 26020 W. 12 MILE RD. We reserve the right to limit quantities One of the yordim, a Sabra, a veteran of the wars that Israel had to fight, who settled in our midsts some years back, and became a successful builder, ex- plained it this way: None could question the espirit de corps of those who find it expedient to emigrate from the country, nor their pure and genuine devotion to the Land and Nation; but how much could they take? When I suggested to him that it was fortunate that the overwhelming majority of Israelis remain at their posts, else where would Is- rael and, for that matter, Jewry be? He nodded as- sent. I asked further whether there were many who shared his point of view; and his simple answer was, yes. He agreed that this was Zionism in reverse. Then my friend asked me this devastating ques- tion, conceding that I ap- peared to be, as all Jews are, deeply concerned about Israel: Why am I not there? The lanes are wide open. Whatever my answer was is unimportant. However, I would recommend to my fel- low American Jews to mull over that thought as they feel disposed, perhaps justi- fiably, to criticize these yor- dim. M. Manuel Merzon Naval Visitors war exercises form the core curriculum. The 50 Americans held hostage are only part of the misery inflicted from those camps. From them have core the raids into Lebanon, their host country, that left 60,000 dead and the country in ruins. From those camps have come the "holy mis- sions" into Israel to mur- der children and civi- lians. Why does the American Jewish community keep its eyes tightly closed and re- fuse to recognize what is going on in those camps? Why are we silent? NEW YORK — Actor Edward Asner has lent his support to the celebration of the 13th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.
