Red Auerbach, general manager of the Boston Cel- tics, has been named winner of the prestigious John Bunn Award. The John Bunn Award is granted annually at the Basketball Hall of Fame to the man in basketball who deserved that recognition by virtue of his performance over a period of many years. Bunn was the coach of the great Stanford University team which came into Madison Square Garden many years ago and dis- played the immortal Hank Luiseti, who for the first time in basketball history, astounded the audience with the one-hand shot, Specializing in Authentic Italian-American Dining Lunches and Dinners which today is the only asset some of our best pro- fessional players have going for them. Auerbach, who has al- ways had an ability to make news, certainly de- served the honor and was awarded the Bunn Cup at the Basketball Hall of Fame's annual dinner which was held in Springfield, Mass. late in April, with 1,700 people in attendance. It's in- teresting to note that last year's Bunn Award went to the late Eddie Gottlieb, another member of the Jewish faith. The runner-up to Auer- bach in the voting was the immortal Nat Holman, cur- rently president of the U.S. Committee Sports for Is- rael. JDC Program Aids Refugees , 7225 W. McNichols (6 blks. According to Donald Robinson, president of the committee, "The JDC has received over $250,000 in donations, primarily from American Jews who wished to help the Cambodian ref- ugees. The education program in Khao I Dang and other hold- ing centers for Cambodian refugees was developed by the United Nations High. Commissioner for Refugees as part of that agency's overall program of support for the refugee population. - 16'7-3280 CAIRO (ZINS) — Some 200,000 Egyptians visit Mecca each year and 250,000 others visit Europe. Israel hopes to capture some of this tourist market as re- lations with Egypt continue to normalize. However, while Israel has 24,000 hotel rooms suitable for tourists, Egypt has only 7,000 which may cut into Israeli travel to Egypt. Good- counsels observed are chains of grace. •••••••••••••••• DINNER SPECIALS • • ♦ MOVIE GUIDE NON.-SAT. 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. : ♦ . •FM • STUFFED CABBAGE Including: A V • KISHKE E ♦ ♦ • SALAMI OR BALOGNA & EGGS BERKLEY THEATRE LI2-0330 All Seats $1.00 at all times Weekdays incl.
