at O.P. Library

"Faces and Figures," an
exhibit of the work of Vir-
ginia Steele Sheppard, will
be on display at the Oak
Park Public Library this
Sunday through May 24.
Mrs. Sheppard's work has
been exhibited in Michigan,
Kentucky and New York.
The exhibit will open
with a reception sponsored
by the Oak Park Arts and
Cultural Commission 7 p.m.
Sunday.

tington Woods has an-
nounced her candidacy for
17th District County Com-
missioner, which includes
Huntington Woods, Berkley
and small portions of Oak
Park and Royal Oak.
Mrs. Jacobs, 31, is a six-
year resident of Huntington

Doug Ross (D-Oak Park).
Mrs. Jacobs, a
graduate of the Univer-
sity of Michigan, has a
masters in behavioral
sciences in education and
was formerly a special
education teacher in the
Madison School District.
Mrs. Jacobs is active with
the Michigan Citizens
Lobby, the Huntington
Woods Art Fair and the
Huntington Woods Kids
Co-op, which she organized.
She is also a member of
Berkley Council for Better
Schools. In addition, she has
been active in the Demo-
cratic Party of Oakland
County, currently serving
as recording secretary.

board, of the Michigan Drug
Travelers.

and Harry Lipsitz will com-
plete their second year on
the executive committee.
