Protest Letters
Are Urged for
Red Cross Day

MIAMI — In response to
World Red Cross Day, May
8, communities in 46 coun-
tries have been asked to call
attention to the Red Cross
refusal to recognize Israel's
emergency medical service,
Magen David Adom.
Rabbi Rubin R. Dobin, in-
ternational chairman of
Operation Recognition
which seeks Red Cross
recognition of MDA, is coor-
dinating a letter-writing
campaign to protest MDA's
exclusion. The Red Cross
Day theme is "Red Cross —
Everywhere for Everyone."
Rabbi Dobin asked that
protest letters be written to
Alexander Hay, chairman,
International Committee of
the Red Cross, UN Office,
815 Second Ave., New York,
N.Y. 10017.

ADL Will Cite
Henry Ford II

NEW YORK — Henry
Ford II will be honored at
the Anti-Defamation
League American Heritage
Award Dinner-Dance May
14 at the Waldorf-Astoria
Hotel.
In announcing the award,
ADL National Chairman
Maxwell E. Greenberg cited
Ford for his "genius in
building America and his
consummate sense of re-
sponsibility for the welfare
of his fellow man."
Vernon F. Jordan,
president of the National
Urban League, will be the
principal speaker and
newsman Walter Cronkite
will narrate a special pre-
sentation about Ford.
The dinner is being held
to raise funds for ADL's
program of human relations
education, research and so-
cial action.

Shares Award

Lanford Wilson, winner of
the 1980 Pulitzer Prize for
drama for his play "Talley's
Folly," was among five per-
sons who each received
$2,500 Brandeis University
Creative Arts Awards April
23 at the Guggenheim
