Michigan Region will take about 85 delegates to the convention, which will bring Jewish youth to- gether from eight states and four Canadian provinces. The theme for the conven- tion is "Am Yisrael Chai." Applications will be avail, able in May. The Great Lakes AZA and BBG Councils have ap- ointed Marc Bakst of Rose AZA and Michele Ungar of Ahavah BBG as coor- dinators for the forthcoming elections training conclave, which will take place May 16-18 at Camp Tamarack. The theme of the conclave is "Stepping Into the '80s," and the program will fea- ture elections for the new AZA and BBG Council offi- cers. The May 16 oneg will fodus on "The Changing Role of the Jewish Family." Workshops on assertiveness training will be led by Doug Lachman and Mary Lee Williams. There also will be officer skills seminars for newly-elected chapter offi- cers, programming work- shops and a Saturday night "Elections Ball." More than 200 BBYOers are expected to attend from the 35 AZA and BBG chapters. Applications are avail- able from all chapter presidents as well as from the BBYO office.
