TEL AVIV (JTA) — The
Jewish community of Zim-
babwe, which gained its in-
dependence last week, will
take part in the 11th Mac-
cabia Games in 1981 with-
out any restrictions. A cable
to this effect was received at
the Maccabia Organizing
Committee offices here.
Till now, Rhodesian
athletes, including Jews
from Rhodesia, were pre-
vented from taking part in
international and recog-
nized sports events because
of a boycott imposed by the
various sports federations.
Now that Zimbabwe is in-
dependent, those restric-
tions have been abolished.
