Items to be auctioned
off include an Oriental
rug, a custom-made quilt,
art objects, appliances,
unusual plants and
custom-made pieces of
jewelry and gift certifi-
cates from top restau-
rants.
An autographed Tiger
baseball as well as golf
equipment, gifts from the
Detroit Lions and tickets to
Piston and Detroit Express
soccer games will be up for
bids.
Local artists Max Shaye,
Sophie Fordon, Sybil Mintz
and Marilyn Schechter's
original paintings will be
auctioned along with trips,
in-town vacations, furs and
jewelry.
A potpourri of varied
new items will also be on
sale, and there will be a

Sculpture Honors
Holocaust Victim

BEERSHEBA — "Con-
frontation I," the latest
work by Israeli sculptor Eli
Ilan, was dedicated recently
at Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev.
The sculpture honors Jer-
zyk Rosenblat, a Polish vic-
tim of the Holocaust who
sheltered a number of
Jewish children during the
, war.
