on Civilization

-

A former- Detroiter has
written an interesting book
on the history of Western
civilization which has been
gaining acclaim from cri-

Bill Broder, son of De-
troiter Celia Broder, has
written a series of interre-

the shaping of the universe
and end with the construc-
tion of the transcontinental
railroad. Broder's "Sacred
Hoop: A Cycle of Earth
Tales" is published by
Sierra Club Books.
Broder's stories dissect
individual advances in
civilization in an educa-
tional and entertaining
