Begins Today

Central Region United
Synagogue Youth will hold
its 27th annual convention
today through Sunday at
the Hyatt Regency Hotel
here. More than 400 USY
members from Michigan,
Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky
and Pennsylvania will par-
ticipate.
The theme of the conven-
tion will be "America or Is-
rael: Which Is the Promised
Land?" There will be a de-
bate and study sessions
based on that theme.
On Friday the delegates
will vote in regional elec-
tions, and the • alternates
will attend a program at
Greenfield Village. Shabat
will be spent by participat-
ing in prayer, study and
song. The Saturday night
program will be an awards
presentation and banquet.
