The opening ceremonies, to include a memorial to fallen Israeli soldiers, will be held 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Participants include Uri Amit, Betty Bienstock, Sharon Blumenberg, Jules Doneson, Stanley Frankel, Rabbi Harold Loss of Temple Israel and Mical Spektor Following the opening ceremonies will be a performance of the Israeli stage troupe, Sharti Lach Artzi, directed by Dan Almagor. El Al Airlines will sponsor an Israeli disco, hosted by radio personality Dick Shafran, after the stage show. There is a charge. Sunday's activities will begin at 10 a.m. with films, children's activities, educational booths and the sale of Israeli products. Authentic Israeli refreshments will be available. A "knowledge of Israel".contest will be held at 11:30 a.m. and Israeli entertainment will follow at 12:30. A multi-media presentation, "Israel Alive and Singing," will be the 1 p.m. feature. Begin maintained during his visit to the U.S. that the Camp David accords (Continued on Page 5) NCJW's Central District to Meet Here Next Week Delegates from 34 communities, representing the National Council of Jewish Women Central District, will deal with major American, Jewish and overseas problems at their convention to be held Monday through Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dearborn. A communal welcome will be extended to the delegates by the Greater Detroit Section, who will greet national and regional leaders of the NCJW scheduled to participate in the sessions. The opening address will be delivered by Marjorie Merlin Cohen, executive director of the NCJW, who will speak on "NCJW and the Liberated Woman." Mrs. Cohen has served with the U.S. Department of Defense at which she conducted compliance reviews and negotiations with top-level management of major corporations in affirmative action programs.
