Jennie Talkow, a member
of Cong. Beth Israel and
Hadassah, died March 17 at
age 88.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Tal-
kow lived most of her life in
Flint.
She is survived by a son,
Frank; a daughter, Mrs. Ted
(Ida) Goode; three
grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

Mollie Smith

Mollie R. Smith, a
member of Flint Jewish and
communal organizations,
died March 13 at age 65.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa.,
Mrs. Smith lived 40 years in
Flint. She was a member of
Cong. Beth Israel, Hadas-
sah, Hurley Medical Center
Auxiliary and the Genesee
County Medical Auxiliary.
She resided at G-3100 Mil-
ler.
She is survived by her
husband, Dr. Maurice J.; a
son, Alan; a daughter,
Roberta Friedman of Wil-
mette, Ill.; a brother, Irvin
Sikov of Natrona, Pa.; a sis-
ter, Rosetta Fields of Mor-
gantown, W. Va.; and two
grandchildren.

Rivlin Reunion Set for Israel

LOS ANGELES — The
descendants of Rabbi Hillel
Rivlin will gather at Con-
vention Hall in Jerusalem
on June 11 commemorate
the aliya of their ancestor in
1809. In that year Rabbi
Rivlin led a migration of the
disciplies of the Vilna Gaon
to settle first in Safed and
two years later in
Jerusalem.
The family includes the
world chairman of the
Jewish National Fund,
Moshe Rivlin, Ambassador
David Rivlin who repre-
sented the State of Israel in
Norway, Canada and New
York City, and the late Prof.
Yosef Yoel Rivlin of Hebrew
University, who was nomi-
nated for the presidency of
Israel in 1957.
The reunion in
Jerusalem will bring Riv-
lins from many parts of
the world to join their Is-
raeli relatives in a pro-

gram of commemoration.
It will include religious
services, guided tours, a
presentation by aca- -/
demic scholars on the
history of Jerusalem, an
evening of the arts,
featuring the work of
performers, musicians
and artists who are de-
scendants of Rabbi Hillel
Rivlin, and a pageant
dramatizing the family's ,
part in the story of mod-1
ern Israel.
