Barry 41- • •••./ a. 4 Agencies Set for Passover The Jewish Welfare Fed- eration's local member agencies will mark Passover with special pro- grams and celebrations. The kosher kitchens at the Jewish Home for Aged, Jewish Federation Apart- ments and Sinai Hospital have been made "pesandig" for the holiday, with kosher- for Passover foods and uten- sils. The Jewish Home for Aged has scheduled Seders at Borman Hall and Prentis Manor. The dining rooms are being arranged so that all participants will be able to face the officiating can- tor. There will be a Seder plate and bottle of wine for every three persons. Children from the Temple Beth El Sunday School will visit Federa- tion Apartments on March 30, bringing small Passover gifts for the residents. The Apart- ments Seder on Monday evening will be led by Mark Krauss, a graduate student at the University of Michigan. Sinai Hospital's kosher kitchen is preparing special Passover meals for patients who request them. On the Seder nights the meals will include matzot, horse- radish, haroset and other traditional foods. The Jewish Community Center will have a fully- catered community Seder, as well as a special Seder, in Russian, for recent immig- rants from the Soviet Union. The Russian Seder is part of the Center's accultu- ration program, which aims to integrate immigrants into the Jewish American way of life. Many other Russian im- migrants will attend Seders at the homes of area resi- dents. Home hospitality ar- rangements were made by Jewish Family Service and local congregations. JFS volunteers will also deliver packages of Passover food to needy persons in the com- munity. Model Seders were scheduled at all branches of United Hebrew Schools to help students learn the traditions and songs associated with the feast. The children also contributed to a "Mo'os Hitim" fund to provide The Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation on the Wayne State University campus will match up out-of- towners or persons who would otherwise spend Passover alone with a local family for the Seder. For information, call Rabbi Eli Finkelman, 547- 9466. The Hillel Lounge 667 Student Center building, will be closed Monday through Wednesday and April 7 and 8 for Passover. The Jewish Community Council distributed pam- phlets on the "matza of Hope," a special reading on behalf of Soviet Jews that can be included in the Seder.
