Day Christ Died' Receives Mixed Reviews

.

"The Day Christ Died,"
which aired Wednesday
evening on CBS-TV, re-
ceived mixed reviews from
critics and clergy who pre-
viewed the film.
The film was based on the
book of the same name by
author Jim Bishop. Bishop
was so unhappy about the
development of the
screenplay that he asked
that his name be removed
from the credits.
According to background
material supplied by the

riot who abandons Jesus
when he realizes that He <
will not help to rally the
Jewish people' to rebellion,
and as someone who is sim-,)
ply carrying out a pre-'
determined role in God's
plan for mankind."
Buckley was also critical
of the dialogue and the act-
ing.
