Israeli Speakers at Hillel

Bnai Brith Hillel Found-
ation's Wayne State Uni-
versity affiliate will host
Dr. Amnon Cohen, profes-
sor of Moslem studies at
Hebrew University, 11:30
a.m. Wednesday in the
Hillel Lounge, 667 Student
Center Building, on cam-
pus. He will speak on "Islam
and the Modern World."

The Demography of Pales-
tine in the 16th Through the
18th Centuries" at 2 p.m.

Manoogian Hall on campus,

MIAMI BEACH, Fla — A
memorial to communal
leader Louis LaMed was
held recently in the Florida
home of Israel Alperin.
Detroiters who gathered
in the Alperin home re-
called Mr. LaMed's efforts
on behalf of Yiddish and
Hebrew programs and edu-
cation in Detroit and
elsewhere.

and the Labor Zionist Insti-
