(JTA) — The National Council of Jewish Women of Canada has announced availability of its Irene Samuel Scholarships, each of which has a minimum award of $300. Scholarships are awarded annually to persons qual- ified to enter an accredited university to further their education in teacher train- ing or Judaic studies or both, Winners must pledge to teach Hebrew or Judaic studies, or both, in a Cana- dian Jewish school for a minimum of two years after they graduate. Financial need as well as academic achievement will be considered. Applications must be received at the organization's office here by May 31.
