Purim, the festival recal-
ling the deliverance of the
ancient Jews from destruc-
tion, will be celebrated be-
ginning at sundown Satur-
day. Congregations and
communal organizations
making their Purim service
and celebration schedules
available are:
SHALOM

SYNAGOGUE: Youth
groups will participate, in
family Purim services 7:15
p.m. Saturday. Refresh-
ments will be served. A
Purim carnival will be held
3 p.m. Sunday followed at
5:15 p.m. by a Purim seuda.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided, and reservations are
required for the seuda.
Rabbi Efry Spectre will of-
ficiate and Cantor Larry
Vieder will chant the
liturgy.

AKIVA HEBREW DAY
SCHOOL: A Purim seuda

will be served 5:30 p.m.
Sunday at Cong. Bnai
Moshe. Fathers of Akiva
students will present a
Purim spiel.

duct a joint Purim rally 7:30

a costume contest and re-
freshments. The "Rosalie
Duo" will entertain. Serv-
ices will be held 8:30 a.m.
Sunday with the Megilla
reading at 9.

The Megillat Esther will be
read 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
Services will be held 8:30
a.m. Sunday and a Purim
carnival will follow at noon.

will chant the liturgy.

Purim services will be held

films and cartoons for youth
and a lecture by Dr. Ger-
shon Winer, who will speak
on "Jewish Humor and
Jewish Values." Rabbi Mil-
ton Arm will officiate and

Purim social hour spon-
sored by the sisterhood will
follow at 8:30. A children's
party will follow, and prizes
will be awarded for best cos-
tumes. Purim morning
services will be held 8:15
a.m. Sunday and a Purim
family dinner, sponsored by
the sisterhood and men's
club, will be served at 6 p.m.
Sunday in the social hall.
Rabbi Morton Yolkut will
officiate and Cantor Hyman
Adler will chant the liturgy.

CONG. BNAI MOSHE:

The Megillat Esther will be
read 7 p.m. Saturday. The
youth will participate in a
costume parade and in serv-
ices. Rabbi Stanley Rosen-
baum will officiate and
Cantor Louis Klein will
chant the liturgy.
Children's Purim cele-
brations will be held at 1:30
p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Sunday.

Goldstein will read the
Megillat Esther 7:30 p.m.
Saturday at the University
of Michigan Chabad House
in Ann Arbor, 715 Hill. An
all-night Purim party will
follow, and the Megilla will
be read at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Rabbi Yitzchok Lipszyc
will officiate at the reading
of the Megillat Esther 9:30
p.m. Saturday at East Hol-
den Hall at Michigan State
University. Dovid S. Polter
will read the Megilla, and
refreshments will follow.
Rabbi Yossi Weingarten
will supervise the reading of
the Megilla and Purim fes-
tivities - at the Chabad
House of Western Michigan
7:30 p.m. Saturday. The
house is located at 1910
Michigan Ave., N.E., Grand
Rapids.

at the McDonnell Towers
community room 8:30
p.m. Saturday. Dovid A.
Potter will read the

Esther and lead a program
of refreshments, music and
a masquerade party 8:30
p.m. Saturday at the
Chabad-Lubavitch House of
Royal Oak and Troy, 1905
W. 14 Mile, Royal Oak.
In Windsor, Rabbi Yossi
Hecht and Rabbi Yitschak
Kagan will read the Megil-
lat Esther 9 p.m. Saturday
at Cody Hall at the Univer-
sity of Windsor. The Megilla
also will be read 9 a.m. Sun-
day at the Uniyersity

Refreshments will follow.
Prisoners at the Oakland
County Jail, Wayne County
Jail, Milan Prison and
Jackson State Prison will be
visited.
