Park, died Feb. 19. Survived
by his wife, Ruth; a daugh-
ter, Estelle; a sister, Mrs.

son, John; a sister, Mrs.

Park, died Feb. 15. Survived
by two daughters, Mrs. Ger-
trude Bounker and Anne;

AARON BERG, 71, died
Feb. 17. He leaves his wife,

Union Leader David Chaney

Union organizer David
Chaney, vice president of
the Amalgamated Clothing
and Textiles Workers
Union, died Feb. 18 at age
68.
Born in Krakow, Poland,
Mr. Chaney joined his first
union, the UAW, in 1934.
After being fired from
Ford for union activism, he
found a job with the Works
Progress Administration.
He organized the west side
WPA workers and was
elected president of their
union.
In 1940, as a stock boy
for Sam's Stores, a
former Detroit retail

chain, Mr. Chaney and a
co-worker, William
McClow, led a drive
toward unionism. After
having organized 800
employees, the two
merged their group with
Amalgamated.
Chaney was a former vice
president of the Michigan
Federation of Labor and
was the current treasurer of
Histadrut.
He leaves his wife,
Josephine; two daughters,
Mrs. Archie (Marylou) Les-
ter and Regina of Washing-
ton, D.C.; three
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Feb. 15 at age 62.

Rose Ensink

Rose Ensink, the book-
keeper for the Workmen's
Circle Cemetery Associa-
tion, died Feb. 18 lit Kings
Point, Fla. She was 67.
Mrs. Ensink was a former
Detroiter who held mem-
bership in the Workmen's
Circle Branch 460E and
Women's American ORT.
She leaves her husband,
Charles; two daughters,
Mrs. Riley (Susan) Liles of
Oak Park and Joan of Mar-
gate, Fla.; her mother, Mrs.
gate,
George (Ethel) Cherkasky
of Delray Beach, Fla.; a
brother, Milton Cherkasky
of Delray Beach, Fla.; a sis-
ter, Mrs. John (Muriel) Far-
ley of New Jersey; and two
grandchildren. Interment
Detroit.

and Ed McKenzie shows
aired over WXYZ.
He was well known in the
Jewish community, having
entertained at many wed-
dings, Bnai Mitzva and
other affairs. Mr. Gordon
was a member of Temple
Beth El.
He leaves a daughter,
Mrs. Robert (Samara)
Laszcak of Louisiana; two
brothers, David Goldman
and Albert Goldman of
Miami, Fla.; two sisters,
Mrs. Sidney (Sara) Kay and
Mrs. Mollie Danas; and one
granddaughter.

Emma; a son, Herman of
Madison, Wis.; a sister, Mrs.
Frank (Marian) Thomas;
and two nephews.
