A native of Poland, Mrs. Popowski was graduated from a teacher's seminary and was a journalist. After having been detained in a Siberian labor camp, Mrs. Popowski returned to Po- land to find her family kil- led by the Nazis. She and her husband came to Detroit and Mrs. Popowski organized Workmen's Circle Branch 227 for new im- migrants. She was a bookkeeper and cur- rently is president and program coordinator.
