variety of posts with Is-

pean affairs in New York,

and spokesman for the
Ministry of the Interior.
Eager was chief editor of
the national daily news-
paper Hayom and served as
chief of radio news and
editor for Europe for the
Kol Yisrael radio and tele-
vision network.
He was twice cited for
heroism in combat as a
member of the Israel De-
fense Forces. Currently he
holds the rank of colonel in
Israel's reserves.

Students Give
Labor Leaders
Israeli Gifts
Nine Detroit high school
students and teachers who
participated in the
America-Israel High School
Student Exchange Program
last year met William C.
Marshall, president of the
Michigan State AFL-CIO,
and Marc Stepp, interna-
tional vice president of the
UAW, at Solidarity House
yesterday.
The
America-Israel
Friendship League has es-
tablished scholarships in
the names of Marshall and
Stepp, which enabled the
Detroit students to take
part in the exchange pro-
gram in Israel, initiated by
the league and cosponsored
by the Council of the Great
City Schools.
The students presented
the two labor leaders with
gifts they brought from Is-
rael.

The A&P recently had a
folder of Jewish recipes they
were giving out at their
stores. This delicious
rugelach recipe comes from
that folder.
1 lb. sweet butter
14 lb. cream cheese
31/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. sour cream
/4 c. sugar
Y2 tsp. salt
1 lb. jar orange marmalade
Ys c. chopped nuts
Cream butter and cream
cheese together. Add flour.
Add sour cream, sugar and
salt. Knead into dough and re-
frigerate several hours until
firm. Roll into 9-inch circles.

(Should have 6 circles.)
Combine marmalade and
nuts. Spread on the circles.
Cut each circle into 8 wedge-
shaped pieces. Roll each
wedge starting from the large
outer edge and rolling inward.
Curve to form a crescent, plac-
ing open end down on a well
buttered baking sheet. Bake at
375 degrees for 15 minutes or
until browned. Makes 4 dozen.
