special now for its ribs . . . a
very safely-guarded secret
recipe concocted by Peter
.. that gives both a sweet-
ness and tang . . . It can be
had basted or on the side . .
along with the regular,
noted Tunnel hot sauce.
MAIL DEPT. ... "We
are former Detroiters living
in the 'Southern Part of
Heaven,' Chapel Hill. This
is the triangle area of
Raleigh-Durham-Chapel
Hill, North Carolina.
"This area is in desperate
need of a good kosher deli,
and a good bagel factory.
Believe it or not, there is not
one of either in the three
cities of the triangle area.
Please help!"

BUDDY
GRECO,
opening this Monday at
db's Club at Hyatt Regency
in Dearborn, is not a solo
anymore.
He has two gals with him
now ... one of which is his
blonde blue-eyed wife, Jac-
kie Sabatino, former 1974
Playboy bunny of the year.
Both girls sing . . . and are
known as The Visions.
Buddy will be at db's till
Saturday, playing piano
and giving out with a lot of
strong entertainment.
ADD TO GOOD wait-
resses . . . Lauralee Can-
nons at Excalibur on
Northwestern and Franklin
at 12 Mile ... and Noreen
Cann at Darlin's Lilly's, Or-
chard Lake Rd. between 12
and 13 Mile.
By the way, if you enjoy
New England clam chow-
der, try it at Darlin' Lilly's
.. home-made and served
in a good-sized crock.

MYSTERY MUNCHER
WRITES ... "One thing
I've learned about restau-
rants is not to frequent
them when they have just
opened and the kinks still
aren't smoothed out. I re-
member trying a brand new
dining spot, which has since
been sold, and being very
impressed with the decor.
But the French chef was
termpermental and couldn't
speak English. He didn't
understand the waiters and
waitresses and they didn't
understand him. I think he
went on a sit-down strike in

the middle of flaming some-
thing with Burgundy .. .
Our waitress burned her
hand in the process and we
waited at least two hours to
be served. The chef was hot
but the food was cold and we
were steaming.
The Caucus Club, across
from the perenially-popular
London Chop House,
seemed to be off its feed for a
while as many tables were
empty even on Saturday
nights. But it appears busi-
ness has picked up. Love
that hamburger or broiled
shrimp with Pancho sauce
and cole slaw.
"The Mayfield Chop
House hung in there
downtown even when
customers stayed away.
The steak, lobster tail,
salad and shrimp
cocktail were excellent
and the price was right.
But the restaurant finally
closed.
"Among other places I've
enjoyed is Benno's on
Agnes, a tiny, elegant,
quiet, nearly-private dining
spot with very few tables
and an antique decor. The
European-style entrees are
subtle and tasty. But, as in
Europe, you can't rush the
service and you'd better be
prepared for at least a two-
hour continental dinner.
"Sinbads on the Detroit
River is popular with boat-
ers and non-boaters alike.
