JTA's Landmann Nathan Potach
Dies in Argentina
Nathan Potach, a builder

BUENOS AIRES (JTA)
— Anatolio Landmann, the
Jewish Telegraphic Agen-
cy's correspondent in
Argentina and editor of the
Spanish-language JTA
Daily News Bulletin in
Buenos Aires, died Jan. 26
at age 69.
Mr. Landmann, who was
the JTA correspondent here
from 1945 until 1951, re-
joined it last September
when JTA correspondent
Asher Mibashan made
aliya. He also was a long-
time contributor to the Yid-
dish press in Argentina and
was active in various cul-
tural organizations.

Frieda Levitt

Frieda Levitt, a founder
of Club One, Pioneer
Women, died in Rishon LeZ-
ion, Israel, Jan. 10. She was
87.
A former Detroiter, Mrs.
Levitt made her home in
Rishon LeZion for the past
10 years. She was active in
the Labor Zionist Alliance
and Farband.
She is survived by a
daughter, Leah Roshal of
Chicago, Ill,; a brother and
sister in Israel; and two
-
granddaughters.

Morton Levitt,
Ex-WSU Dean

Dr. Morton Levitt, former
associate dean for academic
affairs at Wayne State Uni-
versity, died Jan. 13 in
Davis, Calif. He was 59.
At the time of his death he
was associate dean for aca-
demic affairs and professor
of psychiatry at the Univer-
sity of California, Davis,
School of Medicine.

Born in Bendin, Poland,
Mr. Potach lived in Detroit
since 1950. He was chair-
man of the board of Map-
lewood Homes and
president of Parkland
Homes building companies.
He was active in efforts on
behalf of Shaarit Hap-
laytah, Survivors of the
Holocaust, and a member of
the building committee for
the Holocaust Memorial
Center. He helped raise
funds for the construction of
the center. He resided at
3133 Hartslock, West
Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife,
Phyllis; and three sons,
Morris, Harry and Paul.

Maurice Heiber,
Led Belgian Jews

BRUSSELS (JTA) —
Maurice Heiber, the war-
time head of the Belgian
Jewish underground's child
rescue division, died Jan. 22
at age 72. Mr. Heiber, who
also served in the Belgian
resistance movement, was
responsible for saving the
lives of more than 3,000
Jewish children. After the
war he played an active role
in Jewish communal organ-
izations.

Jan. 29 in Florida. Survived
by his wife, Ruth; a son,
Jerry; a brother, Charles;

at age 81.
