Outraged by the pro-PLO
activities of Illinois Con-
gressman Paul Findley,
who is viewed as Arafat's
spokesman in the U.S.
House of Representatives, a
Greater Detroit committee
was formed at a meeting at
the Michigan Inn to assist
David Robinson, the Demo-
cratic candidate against
Findley, in ousting the
anti-Israeli.
An appeal for funds to as-
sist Robinson, a former
Democratic member of the
Illinois House of Represen-
tatives, was made by De-
troiters Mark Hauser, N.
Brewster Broder, Marvin
Novick, Jane Sherman,
Maurice Binkow, Robert
Naftaly and David Herme-
lin.
Findley's role as Arafat's
spokesman is attacked by
Robinson, who has the sup-
port of the Democratic Na-
tional Committee.
Robinson told the De-
troit group here that
Findley was elected as a
Republican in a normally
Democratic district
which embraces his
home city of Springfield,
the capital of Illinois

Mr. Michael Baskin of
Farmington Hills an-
nounces the engagement of
his daughter, Trudy, to
Michael Pianko, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Irving Pianko of
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Miss Baskin, daughter of
the late Mrs. Ruth Baskin,
earned a master's degree in
library science from Wayne
State University. Her
fiance earned a bachelor of
business administration
degree at the City Univer-
sity of New York.
A May wedding is
planned.

He said that outside help
in an issue involving
obstruction to the normal
Israel-U.S. relations is not
unusual. He said that his
district, Illinois' 20th, with
a population of 460,000, has
only 400 Jewish families,
but the sentiments against
a PLO-spokesman are
overwhelming.

Three major elements of
concern and study by the
delegation will be the mili-
