The Best of Everything

(Continued from Page 32)
... a trio of talented lassies
whose "What's The Name of
Your Love?" from their
super-hot LP, "Come Into
Our World," is high on the
charts.
EVER HEAR OF
going to a place where they
make your bread to order?
. . . It's true at the East
India Bombay Restaurant,
500 Fourth St. on the corner
of Knowles in Royal Oak . .
between Main and 1-75 . . . a
block south of 11 Mile ...
Only takes about two or
three minutes for rolling
and frying, and distinc-
tively different ... whether
the breads are one of the
pratas, chapathi or puri.
The Bombay is a small
place, seating only 45, but
so very clean .. . oozing with
charm and politeness by the
two Raman brothers who
own the restaurant .
Mohammed in the dining
room and Fazlumeah doing
the cooking.
A big feature here which
deserves distinction are the
combination dinners for one
or four persons and all much
more than the amount for
number of people ordering
.. Bombay gives extra dis-
hes at no extra charge ...
Even extra glasses of water,
too ... How many restau-
rants can you think of today
that do this?
Also very big is the fact
that contrary to opinion,
East India food need not be
curry hot ... At least not at
Bombay Restaurant ... Ev-
erything is prepared to or-
der, and it is made only as
you desire.'
Bombay is open seven
days ... 12 noon to 9 p.m.
Monday through Thursday;
Friday and Saturday til 12
midnight; and Sunday 4 to 9
p.m.
MYRON
FROM
COHEN comes this oldie of
his ... "Waiter, what's this
fly doing on my ice cream?"
. Waiter: "Can I help it if
he likes winter sports?"
THE NEW LOOK that's
abounding at Holiday Inn of
Southfield on Telegraph Rd.
is designed to make it
among the top spots in the
Metropolitan Detroit area.
New owner Ted Richter
has things booming in his
quiet sort of dynamo ways
. . . Even so far as the food is
concerned . . . which left

much to be desired before

. Ted is a connoisseur of
the palate and tastes just
about all the food prepared
at his Holiday Inn . . . You'd
think he'd be like a blimp,
but Ted is a master taster
... making certain not to
swallow everything.
I had a piece of the very
good cheese cake made on
tha premises ... in the gra-
cious Ronde-View revolving
restaurant . . . vowing not to
eat more than one bite . . . It
was too good to leave even a
crumb ... Having a wait-
ress like Aurelia Pace does
things also ... She's sweet,
smilingly efficient and most
pleasant.
Sherman Friedlnan is the
innkeeper ... and a good
one, too ... as is Larry Le

/OMERSET

Seur, food and beverage di-
rector.
There is no more Red
Wing Lounge ... Where
that used to be has been
enlarged to make up
banquet rooms seating
about 400... as one party
or broken up ... The
former banquet area will
become a cocktail
lounge-restaurant yet
unnamed.
Elfriede Krusiewicz is
evening banquet manager
. and Lorraine Malkasian
daytime banquet manager.
Upstairs at -the Ronde-
View Restaurant Joy
Simpson is the very pleas-
ant and gracious super-
visor.
By the way, the young gal
who makes that yum yum
cheesecake is young Marie
Cutler, a baking major at
Oakland University.
STILL ANOTHER fine
experience at Como's on
Woodward and Nine Mile
Rd. ... and it seems to get
better each time . .. The
waitresses are so wonderful,
too ... like sweet, smiling
17-year-old Sicilia "Sissy"
Passalaqua, daughter of
Mr. "D's" Italian carry-out
owner Dominic Passalaqua
. and niece of Sicilia and
George Grego, owners at
Como's.
A new look will soon be
the thing at Como's . . . New
booths with high backs ..
change in ceiling ...
thoughts of booths in the
center, etc.... Many people
still take much note of the
locally-done stained glass
windows.
Hard to beat the round
pizza ... and Italian spe-
cialties at Como's ... Try
that lemon chicken they
have.
SENIOR CITIZENS

.

now get 15 percent off, 3
p.m. to 9 p.m., at Dubbs, 10
Mile and Greenfield, in New

Orleans Mall.
CAN'T BELIEVE THIS
is the same little boy of
years ago ... but it is ...
24-year-old Darryl Pitt, son
of Dorothy and Mack Pitt,
who with partner Andy
Freeberg is having a
photography exhibit, "On
Stage, Live!" through Feb. 9
at Tweeny's Cafe, N. Wood-
ward, Birmingham.
Both met while students
at the University of Michi-
gan . . . and became the first
Americans ever to receive
the assignment as '79 Mon-
treux, Switzerland Festi-
val's official photographers
. .. Montreux '79 was its
13th year as Europe's pre-
eminent jazz festival.
Darryl and Andy's photos
are mostly of those stars
who appeared there ... plus
selections from their work
at Pine Knob, where Darryl
has been official photo-
grapher the past few sum-
mers . . . Most of their Mon-
treux photos are a U.S.
premier ... previously hav-
ing been exhibited in
Geneva, Switzerland.
Dottie and Mack had
other plans for young Dar-
ryl ... but are rightly proud
of his accomplishments ...
