MICHIGAN 48075/TELEPHONE 557-4600 Danny Raskin's The Best of Everything MORE AND MORE people are discovering and rediscovering Fisher's 666 on Lothrop ... in the New Center area ... owned by Henrik and Carole Jensen. It was originally a private bridge club during prohibi- tion days ... before Charlie Fisher took over in 1934. Today, owned by Henrik and Carole, it reeks with touches of aged elegance and down-to-earth natural beauty. March 1 will be the sec- ond year that the lovely couple has owned Fisher's 666 ... seating 125 downstairs and 125 upstairs ... broken into rooms that make for in- timate delight. The food is far above par . . . and with little wonder . since true restaurateur operation is a keynote of this fine establishment. Lunch there recently was little short of excellent ... You must try the Cock-A- Leeky soup, with leeks, chunks of chicken, mush- rooms and vegetables . and the Danish open-faced Roast Beef sandwich . . . topped with remoulade sauce and crisp onions ... It is a superb dish ... on which is placed a scoop of potato salad ... and a very fine touch with slice of watermelon, piece of hon- eydew melon, curl of orange and a cherry ... The lunch was served by Hazel Mintz, a stalwart of much experi- enced efficiency at Fisher's 666. Henrik's executive chef is a real good one ... Bill Wyant, formerly of the Wabeek Country Club and Wellington Club. The La Rotisserie at Hyatt Regency in Dearborn was opened by Henrik, but more people will remember him from the Raleigh House .. where he was assistant manager of the restaurant division ... hiring all the help for House of Lords and Picadilly ... plus assisting Sammy Lieberman at times on the catering end. Fisher's 666 has been open Monday through Saturday, 11 to 3:30 p.m., for buffet or regular menu lunch ... and dinner Tues- day through Saturday 5 til after the Fisher Theater lets out around midnight. Now Sundays have been added to make it a seven- day schedule . . . with brunch from 11 to 2:30 ... and dinners from 4:30 til 7:30. LOVING CUP IS ap- pearing through Feb. 2 at Fanny's Lounge in the Troy-Hilton Hotel, 15 Mile and Stephenson Hwy. ... Marlene Hill and the group plays Monday through Saturday nites. THE VIBRANT person- ality of Pat Campbell con- tinues to help make her Darlin' Lilly's on Orchard Lake Rd. one of the top fun spots in this or any area. Everybody loves Pat ... and Pat loves everybody... She loves life and loves to see people enjoying them- selves. Pat Flowers continues his ivories tickling mastery that goes back to the 1930s at Baker's Keyboard Lounge ... and sing-a-long at his piano bar is a happen- ing of merriment ... Pat plays at Darlin' Lilly's Tuesday through Thursday, 5:30 to 10:30; Friday 7 to 12 midnight, and Saturday, 8 to 1 a.m. Pat Campbell has plenty of food at all times in the pretty dining area that overlooks her cocktail lounge ... Not big lavish meals ... but more than enough to satisfy most palates ... Other than daily specials . there's five omelettes, four home-cooked soups served in crocks, three salads ... the specialty of potato skins deep-fried, topped with cheddar cheese and bacon bits with a special sour cream dressing ... Side dishes like French fried fresh mushrooms, bat- ter dipped onion rings and green peppers, cottage fries, etc. . . . six husky sand- wiches, seven hamburgers . the Bounty In A Basket (large baked potato topped with barbeque beef, cheddar cheese and chopped onion) . . . and of course the dessert of desserts ... banana split cake (bananas, pineapple. cherries, walnuts, graham cracker crust). Darlin' Lilly's is fun .. . the food is very good . . . and Pat Campbell is a joy. MARIA SHAFFRAN, expert Mexican cook, one of the best anywhere ... is making Mexican specialties at Broadway Deli in the New Center Bldg. on W . Grand Blvd. GURWIN NANCY opens in her production of "Guys 'n Dolls," Feb. 2, at Paradiso Cafe on Woodward . . . with performances now on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Opening night, Feb. 2, is already sold out. Nancy pairs with director Edgar Guest III in two of the leading roles ... Edgar is Nathan Detroit, operator of the "oldest established floating crap game in New York" . . . and Nancy is Miss Adelaide, his "doll" and fiancee of 14 years who has developed a permanent psychosomatic cold out of anxiety about ever getting married. "Guys 'n Dolls" is based on the stories of Damon Ru- nyon, who chronicled the strange, funny doings of show girls, tinhorn gamblers and petty rac- keteers in Broadway fable. This should be the biggest of them all for Nancy. GOOD BET for shoppers and merchants at Fairlane is Don Taylor's Happy Hero sandwich shop between J.L. Hudson's and J.C. Penney's.
