He was a pioneer in this community's Zionist labors. He was among the first to join the executive board of the Jewish National Fund Council of Detroit when it was organized in 1918. Together, in the social services, the historical activities of the city of De- troit and the state of Michigan, the religious and educational func- tions of Detroit Jewry, Harriet and Leonard shared a partnership that gave them status in the civic and Jewish ranks here.
