MR. AND MRS. LEONARD N. SIMONS

The approaching golden
wedding anniversary of
Harriet and Leonard N.
Simons will be the perfect
mark of continuity of 50
years during which the
couple shared in the major
communal, Jewish, civic
and social activities of Met-
ropolitan Detroit.
For Leonard it is a record
of devotion to family and
community which signifies
a momentous motto. Defin-

"The secret of a successful
married life can be told sim-
ply, in one word—respect.
For Harriet the 50 years
of sharing activity with her
husband has been a delight
in a great heritage. Her
father, Max Lieberman,
was among the most emi-
nent of the early Detroit
Jewish leaders. He was a
pioneer in this community's
Zionist labors. He was
among the first to join the
executive board of the
Jewish National Fund
Council of Detroit when it
was organized in 1918.
Together, in the social
services, the historical
activities of the city of De-
troit and the state of
Michigan, the religious
and educational func-
tions of Detroit Jewry,
Harriet and Leonard
shared a partnership that
gave them status in the
civic and Jewish ranks
here.
They were married in De-
