More old oldies from the
menu . . . Joe E. Lewis (sit-
ting at Lindy's bar): "One
drink always makes me di-
zzy." ... Jack Benny:
"Really?" Joe E. Lewis:
"Yes, the 12th!"
Milton Berle: "Waiter,
what's this? Lindy's wai-
ter: "It's bean soup sir."
Milton Berle: "I don't
care what it's been. What
is it now?"
A man at Lindy's asked
the waiter to bring him a
turkey sandwich. "I regret
that we are out of turkey,"
said the waiter. The man
then asked him to bring a
chicken sandwich. "Sir,"
said the waiter, "if we had
chicken I would have
brought you a turkey sand-
wich."
Customer: "I don't like
the looks of the codfish."
Lindy's waiter: "If it's looks
you want, why don't you
order goldfish?"
Lindy's waiter: "How did
you find the steak, sir?"
Groucho Marx: "Oh, quite
by accident. I moved that
piece of tomato and there it
was, underneath.
The lonely stranger vis-
itng New York says to a
Lindy's waiter: "Two
eggs and a kind word."
The waiter brings the
eggs and was moving
away when the stranger
stops him. "What about
the kind word?" The Lin-
dy's waiter leans over
and whispers: "Don't eat
the eggs."
"Waiter,
Customer:
there's a fly in my soup!
Lindy's waiter: "It's possi-
ble. The chef used to be a
tailor."
