Cafe on Woodward, north of
Six Mile, it is certainly for
the better ... Even with the
rush holiday spirit parties,
dinner there recently was
little short of excellent .. .
and Paradiso now appears
to be the only place on
Woodward that serves au-
thentic turtle soup.
Our waitress, Antoinette
Randa7zo, has been 20 years
at Paradiso and is a favorite
gem who really knows her
business ... I didn't even
have to ask her for some
sherry wine with which to
lace the turtle soup ... She
automatically knew that it
was the proper way to enjoy
delicious turtle soup ... (it
certainly is very fine at
Paradiso) ... and her ex-
traordinary efficiency and
expertise know-how makes
it an instinct for Antoinette
to bring fresh cups of coffee
without being asked.
I had a wonderful dish
there . . . Veal Gabrielle
sauteed with artichoke
hearts and mushrooms in a
wine sauce ... Paradiso has
many different menu items
not found at too many places
.. and very reasonably
priced ... like the Veal Sor-
rentine . . . four veal
medallions topped with
aggplant and mozzarella
cheese served with a wine
and mushroom sauce.
Adding to the dining
enjoyment at this holiday
season was Frankie Paul
and his accordion in a room
next to our table, playing
everything the all-men
party wanted ... Our table
even got in a request for
Hava Nagela . and
Paradiso owner with hubby
Dan, Marcella Moody, al-
most broke out into the Is-
raeli Hora dance.

The Forge on 41st St. in
Miami Beach and he asked
her if she'd like some wine
. . . After Dolores said yes,
Harold picked out one and
Dolores asked how much it
was ... When told $65, she
asked if that was for a case
and said to forget it ... The
waiter brought a wine list
(actually a book) and
showed her wines that
ranged in the thousands .
