Pisgah Lodge Anniversary
Marked at Beth El Service

Pisgah Lodge of Bnai
Brith will celebrate its
125th anniversary at
Shabat services 8 p.m. today
at Temple Beth El.
Founded in 1854 by
members of Temple Beth El,
the lodge was chartered in
1857. Since its founding, it
has been dedicated to help-
ing Jewish immigrants and
involving itself in wider
communal causes.

Its first president was
Jacob Silberman, who
also was the first
president of the temple.

Other Poems" by psychiat-
rist Dr. Irving I. Edgar has
just been published by
Philosophical Library.
The book of poems repre-
sents the author's feelings
on the meaning or
meaninglessness of life.
A native of Poland, Dr.
Edgar was educated in De-
troit. He is affiliated with
several professional
psychiatric associations and
is a past president of the
Michigan Jewish Historical
Society, whose publication,
Michigan Jewish History,
he edits.

Richard H. Lobenthal, di-
rector of the Michigan
Regional office of the
Anti-Defamation League of
Bnai Brith, will be the guest
speaker at the service.
Rabbi Richard C. Hertz will
dedicate the service to Pis-
gah Lodge.
