Executive Custom
Shirtmakers in Birming-
ham ... about the boy who
had stolen a transistor radio
. . . The pplice pounced on
him and took him to the sta-

with a three-time loser who
asked, "What are you in
here for?" . . . I stole a trans-
istor radio," said the boy .. .
"That's small potatOes,"
said the man. "If you want
to be somebody in this biLs'i-
ness, you ought to do some-
thing big, something impor-
tant. Why don't you rob a
bank?" . .. "But," replied
the boy, "I don't get out of
school until 3 o'clock."
YOU KNOW THE movie
is dated . . . when you hear
this kind of dialogue on
television .. . Doctor:
"Nasty chest cold, but he'll
be all right I'll drop in again
this afternoon to see how
he's doing." ... Bartender:
"Here's your double-Scotch.
That'll be 50 cents." . .
Irate father to daughter:
"Show business or no show
business, no daughter of
mine is going on stage with
bare shoulders."

Hospital Meals
NEW YORK (JTA) —
Observant Jews with New

Berman said that most
hospitals in the New York
area do not charge for

Timerman Defender Leaves
Argentina Due to Threats
NEW YORK (JTA) —
Robert Cox, the editor of the
Buenos Aires Herald who
defended fellow journalist
Jacobo Timerman during
his imprisonment in Argen-
tina, has arrived in England
after leaving Argentina be-
cause of threats on his life.
Cox, who arrived with his
wife and children, said he
plans to stay out of Argen-
tina for at least a year.
A native of Britain, Cox
gained international atten-
tion as the editor of Argen-
tina's only English-
language newspaper be-
cause of his regular cover-
age of human rights viola-

newspapers refused to carry

such news, his was also the
only newspaper to con-
tinuously support Timer-
man.
In numerous editorials he
demanded the release of
Timerman, arguing that his
continued detention was not
only unjust but also harm-
ful to Argentina's interna-
tional stature.
He who knows only his
own side of the case, knows
little of that.
