Mall.

Temple Elevates
Spiritual Leaders

Temple Emanu-El an-
nounces that Rabbi Milton
Rosenbaum, who has been
the spiritual leader of the
congregation for more than
25 years, has been ap-
pointed senior rabbi.
At the same time, Rabbi
Lane Steinger, who has
served the congregation as
associate rabbi for the past
2 1/2 years, has been named
rabbi.

Chabad Hanuka Parties Set

Chabad Lubavitch, under
the direction of Rabbi
Nachman Simon, will spon-
sor a Hanuka party 6 p.m.
Sunday at McDonnell To-
wers Apts., 24300 Civic
Center Dr., Southfield.
There will be games,
prizes and refreshments.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by pianist Jocelyn
Krieger and students Eric
Norber, Howard Norber and
Shoshana Krieger. The Pol-

Hanuka songs and there
will be a candlelighting
ceremony.
There is a charge, and

the Rosh Hashana and Yom
Kippur sermons of Rabbis
Richard C. Hertz and Dan-
nel I. Schwartz.
The sermons include

"Listening," and "Death
Cannot Kill What Never
Dies," and Rabbi Schwartz's

The Birmingham Temple
will have a Hanuka family
service and celebration 7:30
p.m. today in the temple.
Each family is requested

Temple Kol Ami will hold
a Sabbath and Hanuka pot
luck dinner 6:30 p.m. today
in the temple, conducted by
the sisterhood.
A family service will be
held at 7:45 p.m. The chil-
dren of the religious school,
under the direction of Viv-
ian Stollman, will sing. The
temple choir, under the di-
rection of Nathalie Conrad,
will render the liturgical
music.
Students of Grade One
will present a short Hanuka
play.
Arrangements for the
dinner and service were
made by Gail Cohen, Joyce
Rubenstein, Carol Silver-
man and Audrey Witten-
berg.
