NEW YORK — Recogniz-
ing the need to educate the
American public on the de-

American Jewish Commit-
tee supports the call for the
creation of a Presidential
Commission to explore the
concerns of the Japanese-
American community and
to investigate means of
avoiding repeating the ex-
perience in the future.
The organization said
that in addition, it sup-
ported efforts by the
Japanese American Citi-
zens League (JACL) to
create literature and a film
series on the forced reloca-
tion and interment of
Japanese Americans in the
United States during World
War II.
