200 Attend JNF Tribute o Rabbi Leo Jung

More than 200 persons
paid tribute to Rabbi Leo
Jung Sunday at a Jewish
National Fund dinner in his
behalf at Young Israel of
Oak-Woods.
The dinner was also the
occasion to honor Abraham
Gubin and his sister, Cypo-
jra, for their contribution of
18,000 trees to be planted in

the Rabbi Leo Jung Forest
in Safed, Israel. The Gubins
were presented with a
plaque in recognition of
their donation by Rabbi
Emanuel Rothenberg, di-
rector of the JNF religious
department.
The Jung Forest is a proj-
ect of the Rabbinical Coun-
cil of America of which

Former Detroiter Edythe
Colton Harrison recently
was elected to the Virginia
state legislature, the first
Jewish woman in the his-
tory of the state to be elected
a member of the Virginia
General Assembly.
Mrs. Harrison will lead a
Virginia mission to Israel in
May in conjunction with the
centennial celebration of
ORT to be held in
Jerusalem.

Liebovich will be on hand to
discuss the function of the
center and answer ques-
tions about programs and
making aliya to Israel.
