sity, students will earn a
master's degree. Some 17
students have registered for
the first semester. It is
hoped that the school will be
able to accommodate 60
students (the small number
insures intensive studies).
The university is fi-
nanced in part by the
Central Council of Jews,
a public body which re-
ceives funds from the
central government. The
remaining funds come
from private con-

tributors.
A public foundation is to
be set up to take the place of
the Central Council. A
committee will also be or-
1 ganized to discuss questions
of admissions, appointment
of professors and bring the
practices of the school in
line with other universities
so that it gets state recogni-
tion.

No Ties to PLO?

JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
Mayor Teddy Kollek of
Jerusalem recently told a
visiting European Common
Market delegation that the
Arabs of Jerusalem hate the
Palestine Liberation
Organization because they
remember the terror and
violence of the Arab gangs
prior to the independence of
Israel.
Kollek said Jerusalem's
Arabs would never align
themselves with a West
Bank Palestinian state
under the leadership of
Yasir Arafat.

The judiciary plays an
important role in educating
the people as well as decid-
ing the cases.
