A Detroiter is helping the
Israeli economy by making
available Israeli hand-
made guitars in the met-
ropolitan area.
George Gould, owner of
Gould Musical Instruments
of Ferndale, is one of two
distributors in the U.S. of
the hand-crafted guitars.
Designed by Yochanan
Aharonson, the guitars are
constructed out of Bavarian
spruce, maple, rosewood,
ebony and Israeli
olivewood. Each guitar
takes about 16 hours to
make.
Manufactured on a
kibutz, the guitars fea-
ture solid rosewood
backs and sides, solid
handworked spruce tops,
ebony fingerboards,
German silver nickel
frets and Schaller-type
machineheads.
The guitars are available
at Peralta Music, 29576 Or-
chard Lake, Farmington
