computer assisted studies are provided.
Services in radiation therapy include cobalt
therapy, linear acceleration, treatment
planning and simulation.

Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology at Sinai
Hospital provides a broad-based program
for patient care, teaching and research. The
department serves as the Department of
Anesthesiology for Wayne State University
School of Medicine.

Among its outstanding programs are
respiratory care, critical care,
anesthesiological research and obstetrical

anesthesiology. Also, the Department
conducts a Pain Clinic, which is an
ambulatory program for patients in severe
pain due to unknown or unidentifiable
causes.

Laboratory Medicine

Sinai Hospital's Department of Laboratory
Medicine operates a highly sophisticated,
computerized system, which provides
invaluable support for the total patient care
and teaching program of Sinai Hospital.

This department reflects the efficiencies of
technology applied both in a clinical sense
and in a clerical or reporting sense.
Laboratory results are efficiently transferred
to the nursing units via computer so that
results are available in a timely,
cost-effective manner.
