Mrs. Shapiro will discuss "Who Protects the Con- sumer? You Do!" Mrs. Shap- iro has been in charge df consumer education, re- search and information for Detroit since 1974. In addi- tion, she is responsible for enforcing the city's con- sumer ordinances. Prior to assuming her post with the city, Mrs. Shapiro was a consumer specialist for the Michi- gan Credit Union League. She has created numer- ous school programs and workshops on con- sumerism and has writ- ten columns which have appeared in many Michi- gan newspapers.
