Born in the Ukraine of Orthodox Jewish parents, Raitzin and his family were permitted to go to Israel in 1972. A resident of New York City, Raitzin returns regularly to Israel to entertain. He has been with the Metropolitan Opera for five years and has been invited to perform in the capitals of the world.
