Dentists Needed

NEW YORK — Dentists
and dental para-
professionals are being
urged to consider a practice
in Israel to fill what Israel's
Ministry of Health has
termed a "severe shortage."
According to a Ministry
spokesman, 90 percent of Is-
raeli dentistry is performed
in private practice. Unlike
medical doctors, who for the
most part are salaried and
ork within Israel's
cialized medicine system,
dentists maintain private
practices and are among Is-
rael's highest income pro-
fessionals.
The Ministry of Health is
hoping to attract dentists
from the United States and
Canada who, while being af-
forded the opportunity for a
significant income, also
have the desire to live and
raise their families in the
Jewish state.
