Carter's Pledges

ident Jimmy 'Carter told
President Anwar Sadat of
Egypt during the Camp
David talks that he would
compel Israel to evacuate its
Sinai settlements, refrain
from recognizing Jerusalem
as Israel's capital and get
Saudi Arabia and Jordan at
a minimum to not publicly
oppose the Camp David ac-
cords. -

Hosnein Heikel, writing in
Aspir, also claimed that
Carter told Sadat the Camp
David talks would aid his
re-election.

Appeal Rejected

WASHINGTON — The
-District of Columbia Court
of Appeals has upheld the
convictions of 12 Hanafi
Muslims who invaded three -
Washington buildings in
1977 and seized more than
130 hostages.
The heavily armed
Hanafis invaded the head-
quarters of Bnai Brith, the
Islamic Center and the Dis-
trict Building, Washing-
ton's city hall.
