Monday evening at Cong.

year-long series of obser-
vances of the Organization
for Rehabilitation through
Training's 100th anniver-
sary.
Dr. Haber served as
president of the American
ORT Federation from 1950
to 1975 and has served as
president of the World ORT
Union since 1955.
Long-time friend Dr.
Abram Sachar, chancellor
of Brandeis University,
paid tribute to the Habers at
their dinner. He called
Haber a good, wholesome,
concerned man "with a
silver thread of practical op-
timism that runs through
everything he does."

paid tribute to Sachar
who involved him in the
Bnai Brith Hillel Founda-
tion, which Sachar
founded, and in Brandeis
University.
Haber credited his wife
for encouraging him and
tolerating his long absences
and he paid tribute to ORT,
its ever-changing cur-
riculum and its forward-
looking staff and suppor-
ters.
Proceeds from the dinner
will be used for ORT schol-
arships throughout the
world.
